In 1989, Maria Angeles “Lita” Peypoch Fullerton founded the Chosen Children Village Foundation to give physically-, mentally-, and socially-challenged children a home where they will be cared for n a family setting. Almost 30 years later, what started out as a small facility in Las Piñas has grown into a four hectare property in Silang, Cavite that houses 11 cottages, one chapel, a school, and a physical therapy clinic. It is currently home to 86 children.

Shop for a Cause: UNICEF Auction for Action 2012

In celebration of the 20th year of National Children’s Month, UNICEF Philippines presents UNICEF Auction for Action, an online auction to benefit children in the Philippines and worldwide, and runs on www.e-bay.ph until October 7, 2012.

For the second time, this online auction brings together more than 70 pieces of work from admired artists in design, furniture, art and jewelry for a good cause. Curated and presented by UNICEF Special Advocate for Children Daphne Oseña Paez, the online auction is a product of UNICEF and Daphne’s collaboration to bring the world of art, furniture and design together with her advocacy on children. 

Caritas' Segunda Mana Charity Store: Giving is the New Way of Receiving & Buying is the New Way of Giving

**The term comes from Segunda Mano which literally means "secondhand". But in this case, Segunda Mana, also known as Caritas in Kind, is a fund-raising project (a special donations-in-kind program) that collects items you don't need—used or unused—which have value and may still be sold. It was launched on October 27, 2007 by Caritas Manila. Proceeds from the sale of donated items will fund Caritas Manila's programs for the poor.
