With the full reopening of face-to-face classes around the corner, Procter & Gamble’s flagship brand, Safeguard, along with its long-time partners Manila Water Foundation (MWF) and the Department of Education (DepEd), reached a breakthrough achievement by finishing the construction of 285 handwashing facilities in public schools in time for Global Handwashing Day.
After two years of building protective family habits at home, back-to-school season is bringing unique separation anxiety for moms. This anxiety is only further intensified by their worry if they have prepared the best safety essentials for their kids.
Once upon a time, staying indoors was the norm. Now, however, with the decrease of alert level restrictions since the start of the year, Filipinos’ lives are slowly getting back to how it was before 2020. Safeguard, Manila Water Foundation, and the Department of Education’s joint project, SAFE Wash in Schools, continues to help schools reopen safely by constructing more handwashing facilities across the country. Last May 25, 2022, a total of 10 schools in Cebu were awarded with handwashing facilities and hand hygiene products from Safeguard to expand the support outside of Metro Manila.
Procter & Gamble’s Safeguard, Manila Water Foundation, and the DepEd School District representatives gathered last May 9, 2022 in Microtel by Wyndham Hotel in Quezon City to take the SAFEwash Movement to new heights. Present in the turnover event were Jeune San Juan from P&G Safeguard, the Manila Water Foundation representatives led by Reginald Andal, and DepEd School Division Heads from the 17 partner locations.
