Watch FREE KMovies at the 2022 Korean Film Festival

2022 Korean Film Festival (KFF) invites everyone to create wonderful bonds and beautiful memories as it comes back with live screenings after 2 years!  Korean Culture and Information Service (KOCIS) - Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) lets you experience the hidden Korean films which were released in 2020 and 2021 during the pandemic. These special set of films are here to start your journey of building new experiences, creating bonds, and discovering new goals.

2022 KFF presents ‘Deliver Us From Evil’ (Director Hong Wonchan, 2020), ‘Escape from Mogadishu’ (Director Ryu Seung-wan, 2021), ‘The Novelist’s Film’ (Director Hong Sangsoo, 2021), ‘Miracle: Letters to the President (Director Lee Janghoon, 2021)’, ‘Snowball’ (Lee Woojung, 2021), ‘The Day I Died’ (Director Park Jiwan, 2020), and ‘Perhaps Love’ (Jo Eunji, 2021). For the first time in two years, these carefully selected films will be shown in selected 5 SM Cinemas around Metro Manila.


Director Hong Wonchan is prominent among the so-called post-Korean film directors, and he has directed several hit films. Especially the 2022 KFF opening film ‘Deliver Us From Evil’ attracted almost 4.36 million of Korean moviegoers in the midst of the pandemic in 2020. His debut film ‘Office’ has also been invited to 68th Cannes Film Festival’s midnight screening in 2015. He also wrote a few of his films and is dedicated to his own craft. 

An assasin (HWANG Jungmin) goes to Thailand in order to solve a kidnapping case linked to him, and finds himself chased by a man (LEE Jungjae) whose sibling he killed.

Caught in the 1991 civil war in Somalia, Posted diplomats from North and South Korea turn to one another for a common goal: To escape from Mogadishu.

To 18-year old Kang-yi, her friends So-young and Ah-ram are everything. Wanting to go somewhere foreign, she runs away from home with them, only to find a strange side of themselves and the balance of their friendship also tips in a weird way. Although they left home as one, but they eventually return home as three. Kang-yi wants nothing more than going back to how they were but that’s easier said than done.

Director Lee Woojung is a promising Female independent film director who continues to contribute to the Korean independent film industry. She started her career as an actress after studying theater and film in the university. She directed her first independent short film ‘Neither to die nor to leave’ in 2012 and began to get more attention through her recent film ‘Snowball’.

On a dark stormy night, a young girl disappears on an island, leaving her shoes on the cliff and her last will in her house. Due to the bad weather, a body has yet to be found. In the absence of the body, the case cannot be closed, but is simply dismissed as suicide. Detective Hyun-soo heads to the island to investigate the mysterious death of the girl.

"The Miracle" is a fictional movie based on a true story. Based in the 1980's, the film tells the story of Jun Kyung, the math prodigy high school student. He and his older sister live in the roadless countryside North Gyeongsang Province. With the help of his girlfriend Ra Hee, Jun Kyung works together with Bo Kyung and the village people to create a train station.

A female novelist takes a long trip to visit a bookstore run by a younger colleague who has fallen out of touch. Then she goes up a tower on her own and runs into a film director and his wife. They take a walk in a park and meet an actress, after which the novelist tries to convince the actress to make a film with her. She and the actress get something to eat, and then revisit the bookstore where a group of people are drinking. The actress gets drunk and falls asleep.
