Panagbenga 2013 (Flower Festival) Schedule of Activities in Baguio

Panagbenga Festival (or Flower Festival) is a month-long annual flower festival in Baguio, the summer capital of the Philippines. The term Panagbenga of Malayo-Polynesian origin, meaning "season of blooming flowers" is a tribute to the city's flowers. The festival is highlighted by a parade of floats decorated with flowers and a street dancing competition, featuring dancers clad in flower-inspired costumes, and inspired by the Bendian, an Ibaloi dance of celebration that came from the Cordillera region.

This year's Panagbenga with the theme,  “A Blooming Odyssey”  promises to be a lot more fun, colorful, and full of surprises to delight thousands of people expected to see the event.

The Grand Street Dancing Parade will be on February 23, 2013.  The Grand Float Parade (decorated with 90% flowers) is scheduled on February 24, 2013 and will feature indigenous and locally-grown flowers.  

Of course, Panagbenga wouldn't be complete without shopping!  There will also be a trade fair and bazaar at the Session Road on Feb. 25 - Mar 3, 2013.
