Holidays at The Casa Auction: Art Makes Christmas Better for Children with Disabilities

In 1989, Maria Angeles “Lita” Peypoch Fullerton founded the Chosen Children Village Foundation to give physically-, mentally-, and socially-challenged children a home where they will be cared for n a family setting. Almost 30 years later, what started out as a small facility in Las Piñas has grown into a four hectare property in Silang, Cavite that houses 11 cottages, one chapel, a school, and a physical therapy clinic. It is currently home to 86 children.

This year, the Chosen Children Village Foundation has become the official charity partner of Casa de Memoria, a new auction house that specializes in curating European and Asian antiquities and heirlooms. Owned by entrepreneur Angelique Lhuillier Miranda, Casa de Memoria aims to make a difference in the lives of these children, who, without the Chosen Children Village Foundation, would have no chance of experiencing the warmth of a family.

“I personally believe that these children are very special,” shares Angelique Lhuillier Miranda. “They were given to us for a reason and I believe that one of those reasons is so we can have the opportunity to show love and compassion towards people who don’t have the capacity to pay us back, and I think that’s such a beautiful thing.”

“Our vision with Casa de Memoria is to serve as a temporary home for fine art pieces before they go to the homes of their future owners. Chosen Children Village Foundation has a similar loving principle. They take care of these kids—they nurture them, teach them kindness and love, and make sure that they develop and progress to become the best version of themselves.”

Since their very first auction, Casa de Memoria has been donating 5% of their total sales to the Chosen Children Village Foundation. For its fourth auction on November 27, the company will continue to uphold its tradition of making Christmas better for children in the village.
